Chelsea 2 Manchester United 1 highlights 1/3/11
This premier league fixture was originally scheduled to be played last December but due to heavy snowfall it was unable to be given the go ahead. Back then Chelsea, albeit having a bit of a wobble were pretty close to United and well within the title race. Almost 3 months on and they languish 15 points behind the Red Devils and would require somewhat of a miracle to mount an assault at the title they won last May.
What's certain for the blues if they really want any chance of regaining the league is to turn over their opponents at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night. Although they have been faltering slightly lately only winning 2 out of their last 6 matches in all competitions, they can find some confidence in United's away from this season being mediocre by their usual standards with their last win at Wigan being only their 4th win on the road this term.
Another factor that Chelsea will be taking confidence from is that the players have had more rest than Uniteds who played on Saturday where Chelsea had the weekend of as they were supposed to play Birmingham but couldn't as they were in the Carling Cup Final against Arsenal.
