Newcastle have had successful start to the season and see themselves in an unfamiliar climb of 4th place behind Chelsea and the 2 Manchester clubs. If they want to prove their credentials to the top clubs they will have to make it necessary to see off smaller clubs like Wigan at home. Wigan are in very dire straits, losing 3-1 to fellow basement club Bolton at home last weekend, spelled a bleak message on the wall for them. If they are to survive this season they will need to start racking some points up fast.
